  • Police Uncover Shocking Details of a Terrifying Killing Spree Targeting Homeless Victims and an Innocent County Employee

Los Angeles- In a gruesome and bone-chilling series of events, a suspect has been apprehended in connection with a string of four horrifying murders that sent shockwaves through Los Angeles County. The relentless killing spree, unfolding over four days, left three homeless men and one innocent County employee dead.

Timeline of Horrifying Events:

Sunday, Nov. 26:
At 3 a.m., 37-year-old Jose Bolanos, a Hispanic man, met a brutal end as he slept on a couch in a rear alley near 110th Street. Police Chief Michel Moore described the killing as “brutal and ruthless.”

Monday, Nov. 27: Around 4:55 a.m., Mark Diggs, 62, was shot near a rear wall on East 7th Street. The coldblooded manner in which the assailant approached and shot Diggs was captured on video, revealing a chilling lack of hesitation.

Tuesday, Nov. 28: Nicholas Simbolon, 42, met his demise in his own garage in San Dimas. Authorities revealed that the suspect, identified as Jerrid Joseph Powell, had followed Simbolon home from an electric vehicle charging station. After robbing Simbolon, he callously shot him before fleeing.

Wednesday, Nov. 29: Less than 24 hours later, a 52-year-old man sleeping on the sidewalk near an intersection was fatally shot at 2:30 a.m.

Thursday, Nov. 30: Jerrid Joseph Powell, 33, was arrested early Thursday in Beverly Hills on charges of murder and robbery. Detectives linked Powell to the crimes through his vehicle, a 2024 BMW M440, and the weapon found in his possession that matched the one used in the killings.

Friday, Dec. 1:
A city-wide manhunt was launched for a gunman targeting the homeless. Mayor Karen Bass announced the opening of emergency shelters to protect the unhoused community.

Saturday, Dec. 2:

In a bone-chilling revelation, Chief Michel Moore detailed how investigators connected the dots between the murders. Similar shell casings, a distinctive vehicle, and a ballistic match of the weapon found in Powell’s possession tied him conclusively to all four homicides.

The city remains on edge as the community grapples with the horror of these senseless killings. The arrest of Powell provides a glimmer of justice, but the echoes of this chilling murder spree will linger in the hearts of Angelenos for a long time.
